Feeling Pulled in Every Direction?

How the FACE It method helped me balance motherhood and personal goals.

Lately, I feel like I am being pulled in a thousand directions. It’s hard to know what to do in those situations.

When these situations happen, my worry stops me from being able to do much. I get so consumed by what I “should” be doing that I don’t do anything (well except watch TV).

I start even to question how I’m doing as a mom.

Am I present enough?

Am I meeting their needs?

I remind myself that this is a time I will never get back.

I want to set my children up for the best future possible. I also want to honor my goals and what provides me purpose outside of my children.

So what do I do when I feel this stuck and afraid?!

I realize I need to FACE it.

  • Feel the emotions: Allow yourself to acknowledge and process your feelings.

  • Activate self-care: Engage in an activity that nurtures and calms you.

  • Create goals and plans: Set achievable goals and plan your steps.

  • Execute one task: Focus on completing just one task to move forward.

When I do these things I know I’m teaching my children how to handle being overwhelmed and stressed. I am setting a good example for them for the future.
